The waterfront has long been a cherished gathering place for the Norway House Cree Nation (NHCN), serving as a hub for the Annual Treaty & York Boat Days, ceremonies, special events, and family gatherings. Over the years, it has provided a welcoming space where community members come together to celebrate traditions and strengthen connections. Recognizing the occasional challenges posed by unpredictable weather, a canopy was purchased to ensure events could continue uninterrupted, offering shelter and comfort to all who attend.
Whether attending York Boat & Treaty Days, experiencing music and dance, or simply enjoying the stunning natural surroundings, the addition of the canopy enhances the waterfront’s appeal. Thus creating a more inviting and accessible destination for both local community members and travelers seeking meaningful community experiences.
